In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable central location — Right on the canal, a short walk to Laugavegur, the harbor, and the City Pond. Guests repeatedly mention you can walk everywhere.
  • Good value for Reykjavik — Several reviewers note the price is excellent for the quality and location, especially given the included breakfast.
  • Friendly and helpful staff — Guests highlight the owner's personal attention, and multiple mention free room upgrades to a private bathroom.
  • Free Wi-Fi and parking — Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and on-site parking is included – a rare perk in central Reykjavik.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Some rooms share bathrooms — The standard single and twin rooms do not have a private bathroom; you'll need to use shared facilities. The private-bathroom options cost more.
  • No pets allowed — If you're travelling with an animal, this isn't the place – the policy is strict.
  • Check-in window is limited — Reception is open from 13:00 to 23:30 only. If you arrive outside those hours, you'll need to plan ahead.
  • Some rooms lack natural light — One guest noted their 'silent backfacing room' – while quiet, it may mean less daylight. Another mentioned wanting a writing table.

“Spotless and comfortable, with an owner who truly looks after guests. The central location makes it easy to walk to Harpa and nearby restaurants. Beds were especially comfortable.”

7Verified guest

“A budget room with a modern feel, plus coffee and tea-making facilities. Comfortable bed and pillows. Location was unbeatable, and parking access was easy.”

7Verified guest

“Perfectly placed in downtown Reykjavik, a short walk from restaurants, shops and sights. Great value for the season, and an unexpected buffet breakfast with juice, milk, coffee, fruit, toast, eggs, ham and more. The lone morning staff member, Anna, was attentive and spoke English. The single room was simple but adequate with a nightstand, chair, sink and TV. Bathrooms were nice and never a problem to share – almost felt private. Easy entry with a key. The restaurant menu had plenty of choice at fair prices. I brought a bike and they offered storage, though I kept it in my room.”

7Verified guest

“Comfortable room, great location, friendly staff, free internet, and a quiet room facing the back.”

7Verified guest

“Great, friendly staff who go out of their way to help – I was even upgraded to a room with an ensuite for free. The restaurant below has an excellent chef. Reykjavik can be pricey, but this place is a solid deal for the money. Homey and super convenient to everything.”

“Fantastic price for the quality, with a really good breakfast in the morning. Perfect central location – no need to walk far to get anywhere.”
